You're in the sun. Your house is in the freeze.

The months you're away are precisely the months Ontario is hardest on a house — and many insurance policies expect a vacant home to be checked regularly while you're gone.

The long-distance problem

From three thousand kilometres away, every option is bad: fly back for a false alarm, ignore a real one, or lean on a relative who visits when they remember. Meanwhile a January furnace failure gives you about two days before pipes split, and a slow leak has all winter to work.

What we do while you're away

Continuous water and temperature supervision tuned for an empty house, device health watched so the coverage never silently dies, and a trained human reviewing every abnormal signal. When something's real you get a call — in Florida, Arizona, or wherever you are — with what we know and what we recommend, and with your authorization, a local contractor is dispatched. Many insurers also offer premium discounts for leak-detection equipment; ask your broker what your policy recognizes.
